Looking forward to seeing this one again.👍
Tickets booked and we cannot wait to see the show 💕
Ինչ նման եք Ռոբերտ Պլանտին
John reminds me more of Harrison than Lennon. No one knew how good he was until he was allowed to be heard
Please record this play and upload it to a streaming network or UA-cam, I need to see it and I live very far away to be able to travel, pay the ticket and see this wonderful play!*
The Beastie Boys riot - I was there and remember this so vividly.......so sad what happened as I'd been looking forward to it for weeks. No trouble during the support acts - the 1st act on was 2 white guys attempting rock-rap over a backing tape - the mix was so bad you couldn't hear a word - one looked like James Dean in aviator shades, the other looked like either half of The Proclaimers. They were beyond terrible. Much better, next up was Def Jam labelmate Davy DMX showing us his best Scratching & Cutting skills. His rapper DJ Hurricane was also the Beastie Boys scratcher too. The Public Enemy LP "Yo bum rush the show" was playing while we were waiting for the Beasties......who, sadly who were only on the stage 12-15 mins at the very most. The missiles being thrown (Which were also bouncing off Hurricanes turntables) caused them to stop and ask "Do you want us to play?" - met with showers of abuse and V-Signs so MCA said "You can wave your fingers all you want to but if you keep throwing things we can't play". Just after he threw a half full can of lager at the guys on the mixing desk (which bounced off the wall just behind them and they had to duck - I was yards from it) because he wanted the house lights up so he could see the culprits - Ad-Rock then came onstage with a baseball bat to deflect the missiles in a playful way but the football chavs at the front who only came to start trouble took that as a direct challenge and that's when all hell broke loose. The music stopped, A roadie grabbed Ad-Rock from behind and pulled him off the stage, and the house lights went up followed by a loud multitude of booing. Joe Musker turned to me and said "We best get out of here right now" and luckily we were by the mixing desk so were able to quickly get out of the door that was at the back. Then we stood on the long gone Roe Street bridge and watched the fights and arrests. Sad......earlier that day one of the BB had seen Joe at the Adelphi in his 'Drums over the Mersey' t-shirt and asked him for one. What you hear at 11:30 into the video on UA-cam can only be the moment when the baseball bat came out. The last thing you hear on the recording is the huge multitude of football hooligans basking in their victory by chanting 'Beastie Boys are wankers'. Within the hour Radio City were lying that they were "booed offstage" and played clips of people outside the venue saying that "Most of the people were just there for the violence" and a woman describing seeing a man with blood on his head. Apparently someone had their throat slit too. Needless to say BB never played Liverpool again.
You can now see it in London at the National theatre and the original TV series can be found on BBC iplayer.
Saw it last Thursday, it takes you back in time to exactly how the 80s were, torn my heart out with the drama, amazing production. 😊
Amazing production, outstanding acting. A play for today still relevant after 40+ years!
Barry Sloane does an excellent job of playing Yosser, a fantastic play and the cast are brilliant too 😊
Barry Sloane is brilliant in the play as Yosser Hughes, RIP Bernard Hill x
R.I.P Bernard 🙏
Love me a worm-free woman.
no.
😬
yes
We saw this at the Royal Court last year. A must see production. Very moving. Thought provoking. Excellent actors brought this story to life. Got our tickets to see it again.
We're so glad you enjoyed Boys From The Blackstuff and hope that you enjoy it again, it's powerful and as you say a must see.
Saw this last night and got to meet the cast, go see it if you can it's brilliant
Is this still going? My 17 year old son hopes yo get into SAE in September and this would be great.
Jesus Christ no comments in 8 Fuckin years! This is a fantastic play about just one night in a taxi drivers life. All you punters who moan about trying to get a taxi home on a Saturday night should try dealing with the public and getting money off them when they're pissed.
I've got tickets for the matinee on March 30th. Looking forward to it already x
What a cover. Lennons best song for me
I saw whitsnake bon jovi marrilion It Bites and dave lee roth here in the 80s good times
Harry Enfield version was the best
Lennon still very much alive
How do you congratulate Brilliance , 😊

It's back on at Liverpool's Royal Court from 19 April to 11th May before going to the National Theatre 22nd May to 8th June
Simply the best play the Royal Court has put on in many years. Don't bother arguing with me about it or else I'll nut yer.
Legendary
Scouse Shakespeare, living through riots, skag, yts and shite was hell!
Great and talented writing and cast - well done The Royal Court.
Saw it last week, fabulous, the best 'serious' play at the Royal I've seen. Humour and pathos in exactly the right measure. Get tickets if you can.❤👍
So, so powerful! Hard to compare it to the RC comedies but this is right up there with the best of all the shows we've seen on that stage (and we've not missed may in recent years!). The whole cast are absolutely brilliant but Barry Sloane's Yosser deserves a special mention - superb!
I grew my moustache out specifically to resemble Yosser.
Brilliant 😢😢 sad watching Jake xx Godbless Jake ))) Talented people ...
